I’m Ellen Davis, a Chartered Accountant and registered tax agent based in Ringwood in Melbourne’s east. I help small businesses, individuals, and families across Australia with their accounting and tax, and help users of Xero and other accounting software to streamline and simplify their processes.

From the past 13 years working in public practice accounting across a diverse range of clients, I know how much time people across all industries lose wrestling with admin and systems that don’t work for them. I’m passionate about helping business owners reclaim that time by streamlining and automating their processes and making sure their systems actually fit their needs.

That’s why I founded Greyhound Accounting: to help you get things working smoothly so that you can get back to what matters most.

Over the years I’ve developed a reputation as someone that people turn to when things get complicated. Whether it is interpreting complex tax issues, bringing order to messy data, or explaining ATO rules in practical terms, my clients trust me to get it right and to make it make sense.

Behind the scenes I’m supported by my husband John (and our greyhound Jimi). John’s deep expertise in systems, spreadsheets, and admin help me to keep my own processes running efficiently as well as yours.

Why Greyhound?

Most people don’t go into business because they love bookkeeping or compliance. They start because they’re good at what they do, and they want to spend their time doing it. But too often, business owners end up caught in the race: late nights, endless paperwork, the feeling that the hustle never stops.

As adopters of a rescued greyhound Jimi, we couldn’t help but see some parallels. Greyhounds are pushed onto the racetrack when they would rather be curled up on a couch.
